A VPS is a slice of a shared machine; a dedicated server is the whole machine. Nothing else runs on the hardware, so performance doesn't move when someone else's workload spikes. That matters most for heavy backtesting and for running many terminals at once.
Far more than a VPS — the practical limit is memory rather than policy, and these builds scale to 128 GB. As a rough guide, allow a few hundred megabytes per terminal and leave headroom for the operating system.
